Maidstone Apprenticeship Fair 2024

Today, Tracey along with several colleagues including Helen Whately MP, Helen Grant MP, Tom Tugendhat MP, Greg Clark MP, Laura Trott  MP and Gordon Henderson MP all came together once again to host their annual Apprenticeships Fair. This fair is an amazing opportunity for local pupils across Kent to gain a real understanding of the different companies that offer an alternative route to university via apprenticeships. This represents an oppotunity for them to explore the many reasons to start an apprenticeship and get the chance to meet potential employers face to face and be introduced to a company first-hand. This year we had over 70 businesses and organisations attend with a wide range of businesses operating at a local, national, and international scale, who all gave their time to speak to the 1800 students who attended.

Tracey says:

“Today's Apprenticeship Fair at Maidstone Leisure Centre was by far our biggest and best to date.  I wanted to thank all the businesses that came but also all the students/schools who attended and were really engaged in seeking out options for their future.  We had over 70 businesses and organisations and around 1800 students come.

I particularly enjoyed meeting 3 employees with Lloyds Bank, Environment Agency Offset Print & Packaging Ltd who got their apprenticeships at a previous Apprenticeship Fair!

Also, a massive thank you to the members of staff in the 7 MP offices who put in a huge amount of work to make this Fair happen.  It takes about 5 months of organisation and they never get the public credit they deserve!”
